Procurement Planner/Controller

Summary
We are seeking a Procurement Controller/Planner whose responsibility will be managing end‑to‑end procurement planning, supplier performance, inventory levels, and the timely availability of materials or services to support business operations. The role ensures cost‑effective purchasing, accurate forecasting, and efficient supply chain coordination to support operational, financial, and strategic objectives.
Primary Accountabilities
Procurement & Purchasing

Execute purchase orders in line with procurement policies and demand requirements.

Manage supplier quotations, evaluate proposals, and support cost‑saving initiatives.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times to optimise value for the organisation.

Maintain accurate procurement records and contract documentation.
Planning & Forecasting

Develop, maintain, and update procurement plans based on sales forecasts, production schedules, or service needs.

Monitor supply and demand trends to anticipate potential shortages or surpluses.

Work with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, finance, production) to align demand planning and inventory targets.
Inventory & Cost Control

Track inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimising excess and obsolescence.

Analyse procurement spends and identify opportunities for cost reduction or operational improvement.
Process & Systems

Maintain procurement data integrity within ERP / MRP systems.

Participate in process improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain teams.

Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
Essential Personal Skills / Attributes

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Sage). Current is EFACS

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to prioritise work in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience in procurement, supply chain planning, or materials management (typically 2–5 years).

Background in manufacturing, engineering, or similar environment desirable but not essential.

CIPS qualification (or working towards it) is advantageous but not essential.

Strong Excel skills; data analysis experience preferred.
